What this site keeps about a visit
Written from the code and the servers that run this site, not from a template. It sets no cookie and runs no analytics. What it keeps is the ordinary record a web server makes of each request, and whatever you choose to send us through the form; both are set out below.

Scope
This notice covers the website at cloud.meramia.com, run by Meramia Technologies LTD in Dubai. It does not cover client engagements, which are governed by the contract signed for them, or any site you reach from a link here, Alibaba Cloud's included.
No analytics, no cookies
This site loads no analytics or advertising script, sets no cookie and builds no profile of you. Its pages, fonts and scripts are all served from this site. If measurement is ever added, it will stay switched off until you accept it, and this notice will describe it before it runs.
The enquiry form
The form asks for your name and email address and, on the contact page, your company, where you are starting from, the services you are thinking about and a message. It does not travel to us as an email. The request is rewritten at our edge onto MXENE, the customer-relationship system Meramia builds and runs, which writes it to a database in a single transaction as four records: a lead holding your name, company and email address; the submission, which is everything the form posted, your message included, stored as it arrived; an audit entry for the capture, which keeps its own copy of that submission; and a lead score, computed at the moment of capture.
MXENE runs on a server Meramia operates in the Europe (Ireland) region, so an enquiry is processed and read outside the UAE. Reaching the records requires a Meramia account behind our own sign-in, and they are shown to no one else. The form also carries a hidden field that people never fill in; when it arrives filled in, the submission is treated as automated and discarded before any record is written.
If an enquiry cannot be delivered
When the network or the capture service fails, what you typed is kept in this browser under the name meramia_cloud_contact_queue, so it can be retried rather than silently lost. The copy is deleted once the enquiry is delivered and expires after seven days. Expiry is checked the next time you open the site rather than on a timer, so on a shared computer clearing the browser's data is the reliable way to remove it.
How long an enquiry is kept, and how it is erased
The retention period for the lead, the submission and the audit entry is under review. It is not set, and this notice will name it, with the rule that fixes it, once it is; a plausible figure published in the meantime would be a commitment we have not made. Erasure is available now and is done by hand: on request the personal fields in those records are overwritten so that what remains no longer identifies you, while the audit entry still shows what was held and what was removed.
What the servers record
Delivering a page, or an enquiry, leaves a trace, as it does on any site. Amazon CloudFront, the delivery network in front of this site, writes one line for every request it serves: the network address the request came from, the path asked for, the referring page where the browser sends one, the browser's user-agent string and the status returned. Those lines go to a private Amazon S3 bucket in the Europe (Ireland) region, and every five minutes a copy is pulled onto a server Meramia operates and indexed there, so that an error can be explained after it happens. Both are removed after ninety days.
The web application firewall in front of the site keeps a rolling sample of recent requests, with the same kind of detail, which AWS holds for three hours, and counts of requests by rule, which carry no address. None of these records is public, none feeds advertising or analytics, and none is passed to anyone beyond the providers holding it for us.
Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw a consent you gave. For this site that data is the server records above and, if you wrote to us, the four records an enquiry becomes. To make a request, use the enquiry form and say what you are asking for; the request is itself captured as an enquiry, so say whether you want it removed with the rest.
Changes
This notice changes when the site changes. The date at the top is the version in force.
